Poulsard is the Jura’s most delicate red, thin-skinned and almost translucent, and this is a textbook example. Hand-destemmed, cold macerated and aged eight months in old 500-litre barrels. Cherry, raspberry, dried flowers and a little bracken, with wispy tannins and a freshness that makes it one of the most effortlessly drinkable reds around. Light and juicy that pairs with the complex and smokey flavors of Vietnamese goi ga or Japanese yakitori

Description

Patrick Ligeron grew up in the Jura and spent years dreaming about coming home to farm his own vines. In 2015 he and his wife Sophie finally got their chance, taking over eleven hectares in Ménétru-le-Vignoble, three of which sit within the prestigious Château-Châlon appellation. Farmed organically on grey marl and clay, with crystal clear purity of fruit as the goal.
