Pinot Noir from 50-year-old vines on limestone and sandstone, macerated five days on the skins before ageing in barrel. Darker than your average rosé and way more interesting, with cranberry, wild strawberry and red flowers backed by a savoury earthy edge. The kind of wine that works just as well with food as it does on its own. A natural pairing with casual plates of moo ping off the grill or a plate of neua dad deaw.

Description

Two friends who met at wine school in Baden and spent years quietly doing everything wrong by local standards: old low-yielding vines, nothing added, wines bottled with the motto “rien sans peine” (nothing without pain) pressed into every cork. The result was a cult following and some of the most celebrated natural Pinot Noir in Germany. Sadly 2023 was their final vintage, making every bottle left that much more worth seeking out.
