A Zinfandel-led blend with Teroldego and Tannat from small organic and sustainably farmed vineyards across Contra Costa and Clarksburg, each variety fermented separately with native yeasts and aged in used French oak for 14 months. Lighter on its feet than most California Zin: black cherry, raspberry, cracked pepper and roast sage, with bright acidity and refined tannins that make it feel closer to a claret than a Californian bruiser. Delicious with Thai moo yang and Korean galbi.

Description

Husband and wife team Michael and Anne Dashe founded their Oakland-based winery in 1996, bringing between them experience at Château Lafite-Rothschild, Ridge Vineyards, Far Niente and Cloudy Bay. Focused on single-vineyard wines and older vines, they’ve spent nearly three decades arguing that California Zinfandel doesn’t need to be big and bombastic, and they’ve largely won the argument.
