Mostly Merlot with Cabernet Franc and a touch of Malbec from south-facing slopes on clay over limestone, aged to show the character of the terroir rather than the winemaker. Deep garnet, with black cherry, blackcurrant, cedar and a coffee-laced finish, smooth tannins and the kind of understated Right Bank elegance that makes Canon-Fronsac one of Bordeaux’s best kept secrets. A go to with Vietnamese bo kho or a slow-braised Thai massaman beef.

Description

A Right Bank estate with roots going back to the 16th century, sitting in the hills of Canon-Fronsac overlooking the Dordogne. The Robert family has worked this clay-limestone terroir for generations, and since Georges-Antoine took over, the focus has shifted firmly towards quality, sustainability and organic farming, now officially certified.
