“Jour de Soif” means “day of thirst” and this wine delivers on the promise. Pure Cabernet Franc from younger organic vines, destemmed, cold macerated and aged in stainless steel for an early spring bottling. Lifted red fruit, floral and herbal hints, featherlight tannins and a juicy finish that makes the next glass feel inevitable. Brilliant chilled with Thai larb gai or Vietnamese bun thit nuong.

Description

A five-generation family estate in Benais, the clay-limestone heart of Bourgueil, run today by Pierre Gauthier and his son Rodolphe. Certified organic since 2000, all hand-harvested, with their cellar carved directly into the tufa rock beneath their vines. One of the most serious Cabernet Franc addresses in the Loire.
