A blend of Pinot Noir from across Victoria, including Mornington, Alpine Valleys and Henty, all stainless steel with no oak, destemmed and handled with the same careful touch as Bill’s single-site wines. Bright cherry, a hint of ginger and white pepper, fine tannins and the kind of purity that makes you wonder why anyone charges more. Pour alongside Taiwanese favorites like duck bao buns or a bowl of braised pork rice.

Description

Born and raised in Gippsland, Bill Downie is as close to the land as a winemaker gets. After stints at Bass Phillip, De Bortoli and harvests in Burgundy with Domaines Fourrier and Lignier, he came home to his farm in the Baw Baw Shire to make one thing and one thing only: Pinot Noir. Minimal intervention, old volcanic soils, and a level of obsession that borders on the beautiful.
